Lake Erie Watersheds
Watersheds refer to the area of land that drains to a central body of water. The Lake Erie watershed consists of several large Rivers and smaller tributaries that drain water from the land to the shore. Watersheds are important to study and manage because the use of the land that drains to a stream can dictate water quality. Some watersheds are more degraded than others which helps us identify how best to target improvement efforts to help Lake Erie.
