The State of Ohio requires all County Auditors to conduct a revaluation of all real estate property and all soil values every three years. The county does the real estate property valuation and the Tax Commissioners Office, specifically the Ohio Department of Taxation – Division of Tax Equalization completes the soil value updates. We are currently in the middle of this process in both Erie and Huron County. Later this fall we will be finalizing the values for the 2024 pay 2025 tax billing cycle.
We, Huron County, Roland Tkach, Auditor; Erie County, Rick Jeffrey Auditor; and Attorney Rick Hoffman are holding a joint meeting to discuss the value changes for 2024 CAUV soils. These values will affect all ag parcels enrolled in CAUV. The intent is provide information on how these changes in soil values will affect the Ag property owners in both Erie and Huron Counties. Questions will be addressed after Mr. Hoffman’s presentation.
For more information, please call the Erie County Auditor’s Office, at 419-627-7594, or visit our website auditor.eriecounty.oh.gov.
