Some of you may remember the late Glenn Fry, one of the former Eagle’s, and his solo hit, “The Heat is On”. Don’t know about you, but this summer has definitely lived up to that! No doubt swimming pools have been quite popular lately. With temps peaking in the 90’s, it’s understandable that much thought gravitates towards hunting, yet Ohio’s fall season is only about a month and half away.
With that in mind, a few Hunter Ed Instructors are already contemplating scheduling their courses, even before this summer completely winds down. It’s a good opportunity (and a small reprieve from this heat!) to consider signing up for one of these courses, if you have been looking to acquire your Ohio Hunter Education Certification!
For a number of years now, Hunter Education programs are set up to teach young hunters, or even not-so-young novice hunters, the importance of firearm and hunting safety. Over the years, we’ve even seen hunting-related incidents diminish, as a result of hunters readily adopting these principles and purposing to be more responsible!
On Saturday, August 17th, an Ohio Hunter Education Course will be held at the Huron Township Conservation Club, 2121 Huron Avery Road, Huron, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to some really neat videos, throughout the day you’ll hear us talk about some of the most effective ways that will enable you to be a better hunter. And keep you safe at all times while out in the field!
With seats being limited, pre-registration is highly recommended and can be made on the Division of Wildlife’s website under the Hunter Education webpage. https://ohiodnr.gov/discover-and-learn/education-training/hunter-education/huntered-courses
